How to make Dimsum



Goal



The goal is to make delicious and tender homemade dimsum that can be enjoyed as a snack or main dish.



Tools and Materials



Tools:


  • Steamer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons
  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Spoon



Materials (Ingredients):


  • 300 grams minced chicken or shrimp
  • 100 grams finely chopped carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Wonton wrappers
  • Water for steaming




Steps



  1. In a large bowl, mix the minced chicken or shrimp with chopped carrots and minced garlic.
  2. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper to the mixture. Stir well until all ingredients are combined evenly.
  3. Take one wonton wrapper, place a spoonful of the filling in the center.
  4. Gather the edges of the wrapper and shape it into a small pouch, leaving the top open.
  5. Prepare the steamer by boiling water.
  6. Place the dimsum in the steamer, making sure they don't touch each other.
  7. Steam the dimsum over medium heat for about 15–20 minutes or until fully cooked.
  8. Serve the dimsum hot with soy sauce, chili sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce
